Strcpy you should have been smarter, as the rest of you (as that guy above put it soo nicely) "drama queens."

It's good for people who couldn't get it before, they're making others happy. So many damn elitists here I swear whether it be one thing or another/one side or another. Just deal with it, open your eyes they're making everything available to others. Too bad this game isn't good enough to supply that much fun if there aren't a large number of rare things to go after cause Anet makes everything easy for people who can only supply 3 hours to the game.

I won't get it though, because it's lame and not special at all and will add -5minutes of fun to GW.

Good question; I would like to see them answer that!

I have no sympathy for those that need to have others deprived from goods they have, just so they can feel themselves special.
But "special" they are!

I'll take part in anet promotions that i think are decent, so long as i'm happy with the purchase at the time i couldn't care what happens afterwards, because shit happens.

Edit: spelling, tis early

No, and I don't see why people are so confused about this. Collectors editions items, pre-order items, and whatever else are obviously going to remain exclusive. If you decide to avoid them in the future because of this, that's your loss.

Yes, you guys who bothered to enter this promotion can argue that you were tricked, or whatever, but despite popular belief they did not in any way, EVER say that this would be exclusive content that couldn't be re-released later, and I have to say I thought it was fairly obvious it would be. Or at least there was a good chance, good enough to not bother spending extra money on GW:EN, missing out on the box or buying un-needed character slots.

But anyway I'm fairly sure they won't even run any more promotions like this in the future, it was a bad idea to begin with and was going to leave a lot of people unhappy either way. If they do make more mission packs, I'm sure they'll just straight up release them in the store.

Amended for accuracy. Yeah I know, I chose to buy from the online store. I would have preferred buying EotN cheaper from a retailer, having the box, and then just giving anet their $10 (which I would have GLADLY paid from the start)- while still coming out on top on my end. I for one am going to be quite cautious from now on if they decide to do that again.

I'm happy enough to have it. I used to be against the idea of them selling the BMP seperate.. but now. Since my gf started the game too late to even have a chance at getting it, I've reversed that opinion. It did suck that there was a piece of the game that some players could NEVER get. We got it as a reward, for free. The rest will have to pay for it.

I think its actually better this way. Anet makes money of the BMP by selling it after a promo to get it free. This gets Anet profit for the project and makes them a little more willing to make such additions later, offering first as a promo then later for sale.

BTW: the BMP isn't worth all the fuss it has received. Just some cool background story and free weapons. with NO mods on them..

Guys, please read posts more carefully - you're missing the point. Most people don't care that others are getting it, many aren't even concerned about price. The issue is:

1) A lot of people got the BMP by buying stuff from the online store that they would not have bought were it not for the BMP. (In the case of GW:EN, they would have bought it in a retail store, quite often.)
2) They did the above because they did not know/expect there would be any other way to get the BMP.
3) They're miffed that they spent extra money on stuff they didn't otherwise want, or gave up the goodies that come with the GW:EN box (unless they spent even more money), when they didn't have to - they were simply led to think they did.

Whether point 2 was a reasonable assumption on their behalf is up for debate, but considering so many people fell for it I would say it was.

From this day on Im no longer gonna buy anything extra from the ingame store....I consider the online store to be no better than any online gold seller site...I'am actually thinking about reporting the store to support for scamming.

A: By contacting support
B: for the so called "free bonus" offer that cost around $30. Since you can now get the same "free bonus" for only $10.
C: I don't say they sell the same things, but they are currently doing business just like the online gold sellers.

One of things that were real bad about BMP was lack of informed choice.

You got no info what reward will be like, so you could not really decide whether its worth it to you to take part in that promotion thingie. So if you didnt want to loose out you were pressured to get it anyway. Smart seller tactics, but distastefull from customer POW.

There was just to way to tell if you would get something you would like or if you would feel like you were screwed out of your money.

I didn't miss any point; that's just not the one I'm reacting to. I recall the many "No, you don't deserve to be able to buy the BMP! We're loyal customers and you're not!" type of reactions, when we were asking for retail releases of the BMP; those are the ones I was aiming at (and who are there, spread amoungst the <no offense intended with the following> complainers).

There was ambiguity in words "Bonus Mission Pack promotion". Was it promotion of BMP? Or was it promotion of GWEN named "BMP promotion"? Taking into account that promotion and GWEN release almost concurred most people thought that it was latter. IMO.

I'm lucky. I bought Factions in Online Store (turned out cheaper than from local retailer ), then bought box from some guy. I didn't lost anything, but I understand those who was fooled by anet's wording and lost GWEN box, not saying about money due to difference in prices..

no offence, but please grow up

the "Free offer" didn;t cost $30, the free offer was given to you when you spent $30, and not at the same time either, you could make that $30 up anyway over a 5 month period...

I personally chose to buy GW:EN as I had the unlcok packs and the GotY pack and i don;t need more character slots, nor do i want the box

And as i said in the other thread, on release, GW:EN cost £30 here in stores, it cost £30 in the in Game store too... so i got to make a choice of wether i got the BMP or a box with a usless DvD, a 16 Page maunual and a map... I chose the BMP and didn;t need to leave my flat

I chose to buy it from the online store at a higher price, since its was the only way to get the BMP, at that time.
You mention that the ingame store price and the retailer prices were the same. Thats not true. I don't have the exact price but I could get it about 20-25% cheaper by getting it from a online retailer like www.play.com . Now if I had bought it from the online reailer instead I would have goten more value for my money. I would have gotten the box content and have gotten the "Free Bonus" offer for about the same price. Know Im not one of those who really got screwed in this. Many others bought 3 slots they basically did not need in order to get the "free bonus" pack, that they now can get at a cheaper price.

Ok, I also bought GW:EN from Play.com for a friend... it came on the monday after release... thats four days after the server went live, so again, that doesn;t count

Play.com save money buy not charging VAT, but also save money by sending things Second Class delivery and you will never get a product from play.com on release day

Understood. I don't feel any sympathy for that point of view either, considering Guild Wars is not about exclusive clubs. I don't recall seeing anyone actually say that though.
